The idea of choosing textile industry as our profession was conceived by my grandfather, Haji Ghulam Rasool, in 1974. The initiative was to set up a hand printing mill to cater the demand for printed cloth in the domestic market. As the time evolved hand printing was reinstated by latest technology including flat bed and rotary printing. Despite all the innovations, the mill, United Textile, was unable to cope with the latest fashion and trends prevailing in the market. Hence my interest in the emergent trends in fashion coincided with the urge to fill this gap in my family owned business.
